Hello, my name is Trevor, welcome to my blog!

I am definitely a curious person who tends to dabble in a wide variety of interests and hobbies at any moment. For the most part, I enjoy being outdoors whether it’s camping, hiking, mountain biking, climbing, or snow boarding but lately my main focus is on climbing. I have been known to tinker on cars occasionally, though less often these days, and build the occasional DIY project. I also love cooking and recently started brewing my own beer!

In early 2014, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease after about 6 months of feeling horrible and not being able to eat hardly anything at all. Crohn’s is an inflammatory bowel disease that that can effect a variety of areas in the large and small intestine. We don’t yet know what causes Crohn’s disease but it tends to appear in people under 30 and could be caused by a combination of environmental, immune, and bacterial factors in genetically susceptible individuals.

Luckily, once I got diagnosed, I was able to find a treatment that works for me and allows me to live a pretty normal lifestyle. However, since being diagnosed, I have worked very hard to perfect my diet, which is mostly vegan these days, and maintain a more active lifestyle.

Recently, I’ve become interested in athletes and famous individuals who also have Crohn’s disease and I have been inspired by NBA player Larry Nance Jr. Nance has had to go through a similar struggle with Crohn’s but remains one of the top players in the league.

As someone who is very passionate about the sport of climbing, I have not personally seen any professional climbers who also struggle with the disease. I would love to be an example to other people struggling with Crohn’s, and especially other people interested in climbing, in the same way that Larry Nance Jr. has inspired me. Crohn’s shouldn’t hold you back from the things you want to do and if climbing is the thing you want to do, go do it!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy my blog!
