Storage Shelves in my Chevy Tahoe Truck Camper

Do you ever get an idea in your head that you just can’t get out? That is how this project was for me. After several months of daydreaming, I decided to build additional storage into the back of my 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe camper conversion.

Low Budget Camper Conversion in a Nissan Rogue

Contrary to what you often see on social media, you don’t actually need a huge Mercedes Sprinter Van in order to enjoy the outdoors while living comfortably out of your car for extended periods of time. I’ll admit that my Tahoe is on the larger side (and I certainly pay the gas price for that) but I’ve seen people live full time in much smaller vehicles like a Honda Civic or even a Toyota Prius!

My 4×4 Adventure on the White Rim Road

Back in September of 2020, I visited Moab, Utah with my parents. Unfortunately, this meant that I didn’t get to take many of the trips I was planning at the start of the year but once the restrictions were eased a bit, I started to take some small trips to some of the more remote areas near me.

Low Budget Camper Conversion Using a Chevy Tahoe

My partner and I do a lot of camping and we tend to go to some pretty remote areas. I’ve always liked the idea of something like a Class-C camper or a conversion van but most camper vans just don’t have the clearance or the off-road capabilities that I felt we would need when we are way off the beaten path. Then one night, I was scrolling through the KSL Cars app (if you know Utah, then you know KSL) and I had the idea to build a dedicated camping vehicle with 4×4.
